CAFE Week of Action 2016

The Scottish Disabled Supporters Association is pleased to support the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) Week of Action 2016. CAFE aims to improve access and inclusion across the game to help ensure that disabled people can take their rightful places as fans, guests, volunteers, employees, coaches and players, and as leaders and decision makers.

Disabled people constitute the largest of minority groups. Over one billion of the world’s population are disabled, a figure that will increase year on year. Naturally, a high number of disabled people are also football fans {and we are pleased to take this opportunity to thank our own members and all our participating DSA’s for their continued support and loyalty to association}.

However, we also are aware that many disabled people have yet to experience the passion, joy and emotion of a live match. An estimated 500 million disabled people worldwide have never attended a live sporting or public event. As such The Scottish Disabled Supporters Association is pleased to offer its support to CAFE and its Week of Action 2016 by sharing this statement with our membership.

We are joining with other stakeholders across Europe in promoting the message of access and inclusion for all – Total Football Total Access.
