The goals kept flying in. . . the fans were roaring. . . loads of supporters were signing up to find out more about the new Queen of the South Disabled Supporters Association. We had our first launch meeting with Keith Ferguson from the Scottish Disabled Supporters Association.
At the Launch Meeting, some of what we discussed included the proven model of setting up Disabled Supporters groups at both the Local and the National levels and the importance of having a Pan-Disability approach to include all disabilities, as well as including Personal Assistants, Family/Friends and those, who are interested in supporting Disability initiatives. The minutes from the meeting are available upon request. Additionally the following Interim Office Bearers were appointed:
Interim Secretary: Krista Miller
Interim Treasurer: Alistair Miller
Interim Minute Secretary: Emily Davies
These positions are in place until the group gets up and running fully. We are still looking for interested people to come forward to take on the positions of Interim Chairman and Interim Vice Chairman. If you are interested, please contact the Interim Secretary.
Also, if you know of other people, who would be interested in being involved with the group, please have them contact the Interim Secretary.
We have also started a Facebook page called:
Queen of the South Disabled Supporters Association
Please like us on there, post comments in support of the group and encourage others to like us too!
We are hoping to meet again next month and hope that you can join us at the meeting. Until then, please contact us about your concerns, so that we can start to get to work with the club on improving the access for the Disabled Supporters.
Thank you for all your support!
