SDSA WORK CLOSELY WITH SUPPORTERS DIRECT

On the 16th January this year myself (as chairman of the Scottish Disabled Supporters Association) accompanied by Neil Strevens had an initial meeting with Supporters Direct at their new offices on the campus of Stirling University. We met with Paul Goodwin, Mark Reid and Andrew Jenkin and Paul gave us an interesting insight into the work SD are undertaking, their new direction and branding. The Sport and Physical Activity Policy department at The Scottish Government had encouraged the two groups to meet up.

We were able to share information about the Scottish Disabled Supporters Association and its development over the last couple of years. A couple of key issues interested both parties that being the development of accessible facilities at the National Stadium post the Commonwealth games and ticket pricing.

Many other issues were discussed and the meeting proved to be very productive with both groups agreeing to work on common interests in the future

Later Supporters Direct published an article about the SDSA on their web site see http://www.scottishfans.org/News/SDSAjoinnetwork.aspx
